Friends of the Forest: Jellycat x National Forest Foundation

When you think of summer, you think of all the fun in the sun you’re having as you visit the beach or swim in the pool with your friends. Summer is the time to kick your feet back and relax. We know we at Jellycat do.

But summer for our forest friends isn’t as exciting; in fact, it’s a very sad and nerve-wracking time for them. Around this time each year, forest fires and other types of disasters cause trees to be cut or burnt down, forcing a lot of forest animals and their families out of their homes. We here at Jellycat want all animals to feel safe and protected in their homes just like we do. And since summertime is coming soon, we wanted to do something to help our friends in need.

That’s why we’re partnering up with the National Forest Foundation to raise awareness and educate about forest animal habitat loss and the fight to protect our forests.

Friends of the Forest

Four of our cuddliest animal friends – Bartholomew Bear, Nippit Beaver, Oakley Owl, and Bashful Fox Cub – have volunteered to lead this fight against deforestation. You’ll be able to learn more about deforestation and its effect on forest habitats throughout this initiative through playful interactions with these fluffy friends on our Instagram and website. With a purchase of any one of these cuddly creatures, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Forest Foundation’s tree-planting program! If buying isn’t your jam, you can directly donate to the foundation or sign up as a volunteer.

A Story for Our Small Friends

Don’t think we’ve forgotten about our little friends! Our book, Friends of the Forest, follows our four woodland creatures to their various homes and how much living and growing in a forest means to them. Children can learn all about the forest, the different species of trees and animals that share it, and just how important it is to protect them.
